East China's Jiangsu province will build 50 provincial-level modern agricultural industry high-quality development demonstration parks so as to better gather factor resources and lead the demonstration of high-quality development of the province's modern agricultural industry, the provincial department of agriculture and rural affairs said on Saturday.
During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Jiangsu will build more demonstration parks for the high-quality development of the modern agricultural industry at the provincial level to highlight the stable production and supply of important agricultural products such as grain and the development of advantageous and characteristic industries.
Focusing on the development of high-quality rice, special wheat, and characteristic miscellaneous grain industries, Jiangsu will strengthen the construction of grain production functional areas, promote intelligent high-end compound machinery and equipment, create high-standard farmland with high and stable yields with yield per mu reaching one ton, and enhance the supply capability of high-quality grain and other important agricultural products.
Jiangsu will also focus on the bottleneck problem of seed supply in a bid to provide high-quality seeds for the production of agricultural products by carrying out the research and development, production and industrialization of seeds and seedlings, cultivating a group of integrated seed industry enterprises, and accelerating the construction of a modern seed industry system.
Jiangsu will also focus on cultivating urban agriculture, leisure agriculture, and digital agriculture to enhance the vitality of the development of characteristic industries.
Jiangsu will also support the development of the agriculture plus economy, promote the integration of agriculture with cultural tourism, education, and health care, and promote the organic connection between small farmers and modern agriculture to help farmers diversify their income growth.
By 2025, Jiangsu will build 50 provincial-level high-quality modern agricultural industry development demonstration parks, cultivate more than 10 national modern agricultural industrial parks, and guide the construction of 300 city and county-level high-quality modern agricultural industry development demonstration parks.
