BEIJING, May 12 (Xinhua) -- May 12 marks International Nurses Day. It is a special day observed every year to mark the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth and to celebrate the contributions that nurses make to society.

Nurses have been at the core of the COVID-19 response providing life-saving care and tireless commitment. The COVID-19 pandemic has made it more evident that nurses are irreplaceable.

Thanks to all nurses for caring for us on International Nurses Day and every day!
