East China’s Jiangsu province held a virtual meeting Monday on the prevention and control of the covid-19 epidemic in response to the national teleconference on epidemic prevention and control. Wu Zhenglong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Governor Xu Kunlin made arrangements for future work.
Wu Zhenglong asked the province to study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions, implement the speeches made by Vice Premier Sun Chunlan and State Councilor Xiao Jie delivered at the national teleconference on epidemic prevention and control, and follow the decisions and work arrangements made by the CPC Central Committee.
Efforts should be made to stress the importance of unswervingly adhering to the dynamic zero-COVID policy and resolutely fighting any attempts to distort, question or dismiss China's anti-COVID policy by gaining insight into the decisive significance that the Party has established Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and defined the guiding role of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.
Wu Zhenglong emphasized that the province is faced with a crucial stage in the epidemic prevention and control, so it is necessary to further strengthen the epidemic prevention and control, weave a tighter epidemic prevention and control net, and curb the covid-19 epidemic in Jiangyin as soon as possible, and prevent the recurrence of the epidemic in other places.
The provincial party chief called on Party committees and governments at all levels to remain confident and promote the spirit of struggle to build a strong defense against the pandemic.
He also stressed the need to accelerate the pace of control work to deal with sporadic outbreaks, and the importance of strengthening capacity building, improving response measures in a timely manner, and accelerating research on virus mutation and the prevention of mutation.
Wu Zhenglong urged further measures to ensure people's livelihoods and everyday supplies, meet the people's needs for medical services, and release information on a regular basis to address public concerns.
Wu Zhenglong asked the province to make every effort to protect the lives and health of the people, minimize the impact of the epidemic on economic and social development, strive to achieve the greatest effect of epidemic prevention and control at the least cost, and go all out to achieve the goals of epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, and take practical actions to welcome the convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
Xu Kunlin asked the province to thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions and the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, implement the requirements of the provincial party committee, and strengthen the determination to win the battle of epidemic prevention and control.
