East China’s Jiangsu province reported stable tourism market during the Labor Day holiday amid heightened efforts for epidemic prevention and control. Let’s take a close look.
During the Labor Day holiday, the people of Jiangsu preferred rural leisure, outdoor camping, and outings. Scenic spots and rural tourist spots received a total of 8.4519 million tourists, with a total tourism consumption of 4.07 billion yuan.
Outdoor camping gained popularity. Statistics from www.ly.com show that the popularity of internet searches related to "camping" during the Labor Day holiday increased by 11.7% month-on-month.
In order to enrich the travel experience of consumers, some scenic spots launched outdoor experience-based projects such as picking, fishing, and parent-child activities to activate market potential.
"We provide camping, barbecue, fishing and other activities on the island, so that tourists can feel the fishing culture and some innovative programs," said the steward of a B&B in Yangzhou.
During the Labor Day holiday, consumer protection associations at all levels across the province received a total of 189 complaints related to popular tourist spots.
"Many popular tourist attractions have carried out excessive publicity, so they need to further improve their services. Tourism enterprises should strengthen the emphasis on their primary responsibilities," said Zhao Xin, Director of the Supervision Department of Jiangsu Consumer Rights Protection Commission.
