East China’s Jiangsu province has continuously introduced preferential policies for enterprises, optimized the business environment, ease the bottleneck of logistics and transportation in a bid to ensure the stability and smoothness of the foreign trade industry chain and supply chain so that foreign trade market players has further stimulated the vitality and the province reported stable import and export of foreign trade in the first quarter.
In the first quarter, Jiangsu reported a foreign trade import and export value of 1.29 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14%, 3.3 percentage points higher than the national overall growth rate, accounting for 13.7% of the country's total import and export value. The province registered exports of 802.82 billion yuan, an increase of 15% year on year.

In the first quarter, private enterprises in Jiangsu reported 471.01 billion yuan of import and export, an increase of 18%, 4 percentage points higher than the province’s overall growth rate and accounting for 36.6% of Jiangsu's total foreign trade.
In the meantime, Jiangsu has helped small, medium and micro enterprises to build overseas warehouses and promote export business.
In the first quarter, Jiangsu exported 539.03 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 13.8%, accounting for 67.1% of the province's total foreign trade export value.
Jiangsu reported an increase of 12.9%, 13.3%, 10.1%, 22.7% and 5.1% in imports and exports to the European Union, ASEAN, the United States, South Korea and Japan.
The import and export volume between Jiangsu and the "Belt and Road" countries reached 335.64 billion yuan, an increase of 17.5%.
