East China’s Jiangsu province held a ceremony Saturday morning to mark the 18th Jiangsu Reading Festival and the 27th Nanjing Reading Festival in response to the national reading day. Zhang Aijun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Publicity Department, and Leader of the Provincial Leading Group for the National Reading Campaign, delivered a speech. Ma Xin, Deputy Governor of the Provincial Government and Provincial Leading Group for the National Reading Campaign, attended the ceremony.
Zhang Aijun asked all parts of the province to thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's congratulatory letter to the first National Reading Conference and a series of important instructions on promoting national reading, and take the promotion and popularization of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the primary political task by carrying out in-depth study of themed readings and the promotion of themed readings.
He asked the province to adhere to the reader-centered approach, mobilize all sectors of society to participate in reading for all, innovate methods and carriers, meet people's diverse reading needs, and help people perceive a happy life and create a better future through reading.
