Huai'an issued "the Notice on the Containing of Major Animal Diseases such as African Swine Fever in 2022" in early March, launching a special action against major animal diseases such as African swine fever and avian influenza. Experts were sent to the farms in different counties and districts to provide professional guidance on immunization and epidemic prevention supplies management, especially the standardized comparison, selection, ordering, acceptance, warehouse entry, and exit registration of vaccines and ear tags. The farms are eligible to apply for subsidies for the purchase of national compulsory immunization vaccines for livestock and poultry. They carried out large-scale disinfection of the whole breeding process, including feeding, slaughtering, and transportation.
Up to now, the farms in Huai'an have immunized 22.804463 million livestock and poultry, and disinfected 34000 sites with a total area of more than 10 million square meters, providing strong support for the elimination of major animal diseases and the supply of meat, poultry, eggs, and milk.
