The General Office of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China recently issued the "Guiding Opinions on Comprehensively Improving the Development of Digital Economy in Jiangsu" in a bid to promote the digital transformation by focusing on building a new growth engine of the digital economy.

According to the "Guiding Opinions", by 2025, Jiangsu will ensure that the added value of the core industries of the digital economy accounts for about 13.5% of the regional GDP so as to comprehensively enhance the construction of digital government, initially establish a market system for data elements, and basically form a digital technology innovation system.
In order to achieve this series of goals, Jiangsu will implement key tasks including "establishing a digital technology innovation system", "establishing a digital economy industrial system" and "establishing a digital application system". Other key tasks include "improving the digital governance system", "improving the data factor market system", "building a strong digital economic ecosystem" and "building a strong digital infrastructure system".
Jiangsu will promote the construction of innovation platforms, tackling key technologies, transformation of achievements and cultivation of talents, support Zijinshan Laboratory to play the role of national strategic scientific and technological strength, and support Nanjing in its efforts to create a comprehensive national science center.
Jiangsu will also organize technological breakthroughs in high-end chips, high-end software and core electronic devices, explore the sharing of digital human resources, and cultivate a group of compound "digital craftsmen".
As a manufacturing powerhouse, Jiangsu will continue to promote the deep integration of digitization and manufacturing by formulating implementation plans, road-maps, and evaluation and evaluation systems for digital transformation in key industries, accelerating the construction of intelligent workshops and factories, and comprehensively improve the "intelligent transformation" of enterprises , and strive to create a new highland for the innovation and development of the country’s digital economy.
