East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up its efforts to contain pollution through a series of new means and methods in a bid to promote high-level protection of the ecological environment and inject strong impetus into the construction of the beautiful Jiangsu campaign.
Early in the morning, in the Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, an environmental monitoring vehicle equipped with a variety of precision instruments was seen drawing a real-time three-dimensional atmospheric environment monitoring map through lidar.
On the atmospheric environment monitoring map, blue represents relatively good air quality, and red represents relatively poor air quality. Judging from our real-time navigation map today, the air quality in this area is relatively good.
It took a year for the Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone to carry out precise source tracing with the help of advanced technologies such as satellite remote sensing and hyper-spectral imaging, and quickly determined that industrial sources and mobile sources were the "culprits" affecting air quality.
Under the guidance of experts from the ecological environment department, Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone has launched technology-based air pollution prevention and control, built a big data platform, and gained real-time understanding of the atmospheric emissions of all key enterprises in the zone, encourage spraying enterprises to carry out process transformation and upgrade of environmental protection facilities, and promote the use of low-cost innovative filter cotton, and effectively solve the problem of random emission of industrial flue gas.
With multiple measures taken, the air quality of Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone has improved significantly with its PM2.5 dropping by 15.1% year-on-year, and the number of good days throughout the year ranking first in Xuzhou.
A resident of Xuzhou told reporter that in the past, the leaves in this place were covered with a layer of ash, but now it is basically invisible, and there are more and more opportunities to see the blue sky and white clouds.
Wang Jifeng, Deputy Director of the Atmosphere Department of Xuzhou Ecological Environment Bureau, said that they will further promote pollution prevention and control, strengthen the inter-provincial joint prevention and control of the atmosphere, make blue sky and white clouds the new normal in Xuzhou, and contribute to the construction of beautiful Jiangsu.
The practice of preventing and controlling air pollution in Xuzhou Economic Development Zone is a microcosm of Jiang's promotion of the modernization of the ecological environment governance system and governance capacity. Focusing on intensifying the battle of pollution prevention and control, Jiangsu has continuously improved the modernization level of ecological environment improvement.
Suzhou issued the country's first local regulations on ecological environment monitoring, took the lead in establishing a "1+7+1" system for ecological and environmental damage compensation, and launched the Golden Ring Dialogue, production suspension and exemption measures for enterprises, so that modern methods of air pollution prevention and control are well-grounded.
Jiangsu has continuously improved the "air, earth and air" integrated environmental monitoring network, and established a full-life cycle monitoring system for hazardous waste, which has effectively improved the accuracy of environmental law enforcement in the province.
The province has also supported the clean transformation of heavy chemical industries, launched the "Green Island" project and ecological safety buffer zones, and solved the pollution control problem for tens of thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises.
