The Chinese mainland recorded 3,602 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, with 3,507 linked to local transmissions and 95 from overseas, according to data from the National Health Commission on Tuesday.
A total of 1,768 new asymptomatic cases were also recorded, and 8,650 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.
Confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now total 120,504, with the death toll remaining unchanged at 4,636 since January last year.
The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:
Hong Kong: 263,411 (28,318 recoveries, 4,279 deaths)
Macao: 82 (79 recoveries)
Taiwan: 21,363 (13,742 recoveries, 853 deaths)
