致市民朋友的一封信
A Letter to Nanjing Citizens
亲爱的市民朋友们：
Dear citizens,
当前，又一场关乎每个人的疫情防控阻击战已经打响。面对可能蔓延扩散的风险，市委市政府已全面展开部署，升级各项管控措施，争分夺秒、从严从紧，争取用最短的时间切断病毒隐匿传播的渠道，用最大的努力确保每一位市民的生命健康安全。
At present, another battle of epidemic prevention and control has begun, and no one can stay out of it. In the face of possible spread of COVID-19, the CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee and Nanjing Municipal People’s Government have widely deployed and upgraded various control measures, racing against time, keeping stricter rules, and striving to cut off the channels for the hidden spread of the virus in the shortest time possible, while making the greatest efforts to ensure the health and safety of each and every citizen.
在疫情面前，我们都不是局外人；在健康面前，我们每个人都是责任人，因为您，守护宁。希望全体市民支持和配合政府部门采取的各项防控举措。为了您和家人的健康平安：
We are all in this fight together, and are responsible for the health of all citizens, as well as the safety of Nanjing. We hope that you support and cooperate with various prevention and control measures initiated by related government departments.
For the health and safety of you and your family:
一、望您能够认清奥密克戎变异株传播速度快、隐匿性强、无症状感染者多、易感人群和基础疾病患者易引发重症等特点，加强自身防护，做“负责任的南京市民”。
1. We hope you are fully aware that the Omicron variant is characterized by its rapid spread, strong concealment and more asymptomatic infections, and susceptible people and patients with underlying diseases are prone to serious illness after infection. Please better protect yourself from the epidemic, and shoulder the due “responsibility” (of your health) as a citizen of Nanjing.
二、望您在近期非必要不前往已有阳性感染者报告的城市，确需前往的，应在出发前和返回前及时向所在社区（村）和单位（或所住宾馆）报备，返回后按要求配合落实管理措施；如您从外地来宁返宁，应主动配合做好信息登记、居家隔离、健康监测。
2. We hope that you will not head to cities where positive infection has been reported unless it is necessary in the near future. If you really need to go, you should report to your community (village) and unit (or hotel where you are staying) in time before departure and return. Please cooperate with related management measures as required upon your return; if you come to Nanjing from other places, you should take the initiative to cooperate in information registration, home isolation, and health monitoring.
三、望您取消不必要的聚集性活动，让生活节奏慢下来，有去景区、赏花、踏青、祭扫等计划的，可暂时调整一下；美食街、电影院等人员密集场所已实施限流、预约、错峰的管理要求，您若确需前往，口罩、测温、验码“三件套”不可少，保持一米以上安全社交距离。
3. We hope you can cancel unnecessary gatherings and slow down the pace of life. If you have plans to go to scenic spots, enjoy flowers, go outing, or sweeping tombs, you may reschedule them. Food courts, cinemas and other crowded places have implemented current restrictions, reservations, and management requirements for staggered peaks. If you really need to go, please make sure you wear a mask, get your temperature taken and health code verified, while keeping a social distance of at least one meter.
四、望您做好个人健康监测，如出现发热、呼吸道感染等症状，要避免接触他人，在做好个人防护的前提下，及时到当地定点医疗机构发热门诊就诊，就医途中全程佩戴口罩，避免乘坐公共交通工具。
4. We hope you keep monitoring your personal health. If symptoms such as fever or RTI (respiratory tract infection) occur, please avoid contacts with others, take self-protection measures, and head to the fever clinic of local designated medical institutions in time. Remember to wear a mask all the way to the clinic and avoid taking public transportation.
五、望您及时完成新冠疫苗全程接种，抓紧到附近的接种点进行加强免疫接种。
5. We hope you complete the full course of vaccination against COVID-19 in time, and hurry to the nearby vaccination point for a booster shot.
六、望您继续做好个人防护，坚持勤洗手、戴口罩、常通风、少聚集、用公筷、分餐制等良好个人卫生习惯。
6. We hope you continue to take proper self-protection measures, and keep good personal hygiene habits such as washing hands frequently, wearing masks, frequent ventilation, less gathering, using communal chopsticks, and individual serving.
疫情动态如有最新进展，我们会第一时间通过官方权威渠道对外公布。请您不要相信网络传言、街头流言。
We will immediately release the latest information about the epidemic through authoritative channels. Please do not believe rumors both online and offline.

Spring scenery greets the eye, sweet blooms perfume the air. After the encounter with the Delta variant last summer, we deeply understand that it is our concerted efforts that can repel the epidemic and protect our common home. We firmly believe that every citizen's small contribution will surely condense into the most valuable “Nanjing” power to win the people's battle against the epidemic!
