The NPC deputies from east China’s Jiangsu province deliberated on the work report of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress at a panel discussion held Tuesday in Beijing.
Long Xiang, a deputy to the National People's Congress, said that in the past year, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has demonstrated the strong political responsibility of the highest organ of state power, conscientiously implemented the people-centered development philosophy, and thoroughly explained and publicized the concept of people's democracy throughout the process.
Chen Zhenning, a deputy to the National People's Congress, said that the report made by Chairman Li Zhanshu was of high level with clear-cut, coherent, well-arranged, powerful and confident philosophy of thinking, making it a good report that fully demonstrate the highlights of the work of the National People's Congress. In the past year, the National People's Congress has demonstrated a very clear work philosophy with clear thinking and pragmatic measures.
Chen Mengmeng, a deputy to the National People's Congress, said that the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has a clear-cut stand to uphold the party's overall leadership, carry out legal struggles against anti-China forces, accurately and serve the overall work of the party and the country, and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the people so that new progress and results have been achieved in various work.
The NPC deputies from Jiangsu also suggested that legislation must be improved to regulate the development of the platform economy, strengthen the enforcement of existing laws and regulations, and effectively regulate illegal phenomena such as monopoly, tax evasion, and misuse of user data on commercial platforms.
They also suggested that when formulating and revising relevant laws and regulations, relevant requirements such as new pollutant control should be added to better ensure the safety of the national ecological environment and the health of the people.
