East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up the construction of major investment projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort so as to fulfill goals for social and economic development set forth in this year’s government work report. JSBC has the story.
The CNOOC Yancheng "Green Energy Port" project under construction is a key planning project for the construction and interconnection of the national natural gas production, supply, storage and marketing system.
By building 10 large LNG storage tanks upon its operation in 2023, the project will be able to process 6 million tons of LNG per year, contributing to 28.5 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
Jiangsu is going all out to promote the construction of the Jiangyin-Jingjiang Yangtze River Tunnel. The cutterhead of the largest diameter shield machine in China "Juli No. 1" went down smoothly in Jingjiang, marking the completion of the hoisting of major components of the Jiangyin-Jingjiang Yangtze River Tunnel Project.
As an important diversion transport route of the Jiangyin Bridge, the Jiangyin-Jingjiang Yangtze River Tunnel is currently the largest diameter and super-large diameter tunnel under construction in China. The "Juli No. 1" shield machine cutter head boasts high assembly and welding precision and high hoisting risk.
In order to effectively ensure the welding accuracy, the project team completed the cutter head welding operation in one month by working in two shifts without interruption.
"The diameter of the cutter head going down this time is 16.09 meters and weighs 514 tons.The 'Smiling Angel'Yangtze finless porpoise is painted on the cutter head,and its friendly smiling image highlights the regional cultural characteristics of Jiangsu,and at the same time stands for the high standard requirements of the project for the ecological protection of the Yangtze River."said Shi Zhipeng, Engineer of CCCC Tunnel Bureau.
Being one of the key projects in the State Council's "Yangtze River Economic Belt Comprehensive Three-dimensional Transportation Corridor Plan", the Jiangyin-Jingjiang Yangtze River Tunnel is of great significance to promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region, accelerate the construction of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration and the integrated development across the river.
