Nanjing started construction of a batch of major innovation carriers for the promotion of regional-university integrated development in a bid to inject innovation momentum into Nanjing's construction as a leading national innovative city.
Han Liming, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee, and Zuo Wei, Secretary of the Party Committee of Southeast University, unveiled major innovation carriers such as the "National New Display Technology Innovation Center Visual Health and Perception Innovation Platform", "Infrastructure Safety, Low-Carbon and Smart School-Enterprise Collaborative Innovation Complex". Southeast University, Chinese Academy of Sciences University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Nanjing Jiangning District signed contracts to jointly build more than ten projects such as innovation and entrepreneurship bases, joint laboratories, and integrated development demonstration areas. Two major innovations, including the information high-speed rail comprehensive measurement and adjustment system and the new energy IBC integrated intelligent braking system, were released. The regional-university integrated development is expected to promote Jiangning District to accelerate the construction of a comprehensive scientific center pilot area, an innovative industrial strong area, an open integration innovation demonstration area, and a technological innovation and entrepreneurship vitality area, making it a demonstration zone in Nanjing's efforts to lead the country’s innovation city campaign.
