East China’s Jiangsu province will spare no efforts to step up the construction of transportation modernization demonstration zone by accelerating the improvement of the modern comprehensive transportation network, build a modern transportation and logistics system, and promote the efficient and smooth economic cycle.

Huai'an Port has opened 11 domestic and foreign trade routes connecting Shanghai, Nanjing and Zhoukou, attracting more than ten kinds of goods such as chemical raw materials, steel, ceramics, and electrical machinery from the surrounding areas to make transit here.
In recent years, Huai'an has continuously strengthened the construction of transportation by starting the construction of the Nanjing-Huai'an high-speed railway, the Huai'an-Vietnam direct cargo flight route, and renovated and expanded the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway and the Changchun-Shenzhen Expressway.
In 2021, Huai'an started construction of transportation projects totaling more than 43 billion yuan of investment.

In recent years, Jiangsu has further improved its comprehensive transportation network by building a number of major railway lines, connecting 13 prefecture-level cities with high-speed rail, opening a 12.5-meter deep-water channel in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River in Nanjing and connecting all prefecture-level cities on both sides of the Yangtze River with one bridge after another.
Last year, Jiangsu completed an investment of 178 billion yuan in transportation infrastructure construction, a year-on-year increase of 7.7%.
In the meantime, Jiangsu has made continuous efforts to comprehensively improve its international freight capacity, effectively reduce logistics costs, and improve the efficiency of urban and rural freight logistics.
Nanjing Jiangning Airport Economic Development Zone, for example, has gathered nearly 20 well-known logistics enterprises from home and abroad. Last year, it introduced 25 projects with an investment of more than 100 million yuan, cultivated 7 unicorn gazelle enterprises, and achieved a year-on-year increase of 12.5% in regional GDP.

In 2021, Jiangsu recorded a comprehensive freight volume of 2.93 billion tons and a cargo turnover of 1.1779 trillion ton-km, an increase of 6.6% and 8.2% year-on-year respectively.
This year, Jiangsu will start construction of a number of major projects including the North Yangtze River High-speed Railway and the Yancheng-Taizhou-Wuxi-Changzhou-Yixing Railway to fulfill the investment of 180.9 billion yuan in transportation construction and build a comprehensive transportation network of more than 2,100 kilometers.
