From January 1 to 3, retail sales of 100 key business and trading enterprises in Suzhou are expected to hit 1.123 billion CNY, a year-on-year growth of 8.67 percent, data from Suzhou Bureau of Commerce showed yesterday.
As the Consumption of Jiangsu: Winter Shopping Festival & the 2nd Double 12 Suzhou Shopping Festival kicked off on December 11 last year, Suzhou has provided both online and offline shopping activities to consumers. According to local commerce authorities, the shopping festival is designed to tap consumption potential and highlights digital economy and live-streaming commerce.
*The Double 12 Suzhou Shopping Festival will last until February this year amid strict and regular epidemic prevention and control measures. More than 1,300 shopping events will be held during the period, covering new types of consumption, online digital consumption, recreational tourism and sports, delicacies, live-streaming promotion, brand consumption, nighttime consumption, automobiles, home appliances and other big-ticket items.
Statistics showed that the sales of Suzhou Matro hit 22.12 million CNY on the first day of the holiday; Longfor Paradise Walk recorded an income of 13.43 million CNY, a year-on-year rise of 21 percent. Other major commercial complexes including Wangda Plaza in Zhangjiagang also gained in popularity among local residents.
With regular and targeted preventive measures in place, the overall epidemic prevention and control situation in Suzhou remained stable, which brought impetus to the booming of local catering industry. Apart from that, the sales of coldwear, warm underwear, down jackets as well as heaters, humidifiers, etc. also surged as the temperature in Suzhou dropped during the holiday.
