The city of Suzhou has made unremitting efforts since the start of this year to promote socialist modernization by following the spirit of the 14th Provincial Party Congress. Let’s take a close look.
In the great course of reform and opening up, Suzhou is accelerating the construction of a strong modern socialist city in accordance with the requirements of the provincial party committee and government, and creating the "most beautiful window" for showcasing socialist modernization to the world.
In an exclusive interview with JSBC staff reporters, Cao Lubao, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, explained the basic ideas of Suzhou's modernization drive.Today's Suzhou is forging ahead in full swing in the intelligent transformation and digital transformation of traditional enterprises. In the next five years, 100 demonstration factories and 2,000 demonstration intelligent workshops will be built in Suzhou, while a batch of high-level innovation clusters with Suzhou characteristics will be built.
In the meantime, Suzhou has actively embraced the new wave of cultural development and expanded the digital cultural industry in a bid to register more than 1,500 cultural enterprises above designated size in five years with the added value of the cultural industry accounting for more than 10% of the regional GDP.
In the next five years, Suzhou will continue to expand the scope of benefits for the people’s livelihood by renovating or expanding nearly 400 schools to accommodate more than 460,000. the city will also renovate old residential quarters while 20 class III hospitals will be built on a city-wide basis.
