Consumption of Jiangsu: Winter Shopping Festival & the 2nd Double 12 Suzhou Shopping Festival kicked off at 8 p.m. last night.

Suzhou is the main venue for the opening ceremony of this year's "Consumption of Jiangsu: Winter Shopping Festival". With the joint efforts by a total of 13 cities across the province, the event is expected to cover more fields and benefit more groups.

A number of major brands, including Alibaba, Ecovacs, Bosideng, etc., announced their policies and measures to stimulate the consumption during the festival.

In addition, policies on worry-free consumption and return of goods without reasons in the province were issued. Up to present, 120,000-plus business owners across the province and 88,000 in Suzhou have promised to abide by the policies.
Jiangsu Provincial Pedestrian Street Alliance was officially inaugurated with Suzhou's "first store economy" policy released.

Six other cities in the province, namely Wuxi, Xuzhou, Nantong, Huai'an, Yangzhou and Zhenjiang, joined the grand opening ceremony via video link and live-streamed local shopping events.
Statistics show that the province's order volume hit over RMB2.5 billion yuan in the 30 minutes after the opening ceremony took place at 8 last night. Among others, Suzhou registered sales of more than RMB280 million yuan.

This year's Double 12 Suzhou Shopping Festival will last until next February amid strict and regular epidemic prevention and control measures. More than 1,300 events will be held during the period, covering new types of consumption, online digital consumption, recreational tourism and sports, delicacies, live-streaming promotion, brand consumption, nighttime consumption, automobiles, home appliances and other big-ticket items.
