Wu Zhenglong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Xu Kunlin, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Acting Governor, Huang Lixin, Chairwoman of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and Zhang Yizhen, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, cast their ballots Wednesday in the general election of Nanjing at the district and township level.

At 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Wu Zhenglong came to the polling station on the fourth floor of the Provincial Party Committee Building and cast his vote.
Wu Zhenglong pointed out that the people's congress system is the fundamental way and the highest form of realization for the Chinese people to be the masters of the country.
He said the election of deputies to the people's congress is an important manifestation of the people's exercise of state power and an important link in the entire process of people's democracy.
Xu Kunlin cast his vote at the polling station of the provincial government in the second constituency of Ninghai Road Street, Gulou District.
Huang Lixin cast her vote by proxy at the polling station of the provincial CPPCC in the first constituency of Ninghai Road Street, Gulou District.
Zhang Yizhen cast her vote at the polling station of the provincial party committee in the first constituency of Ninghai Road Street, Gulou District.
Among the incumbent or former top leaders who also cast their votes in person or by proxy in their respective constituencies were Li Xiaomin, Executive Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, Luo Zhijun, Director of the Agriculture and Rural Committee of the National People’s Congress, Lou Qinjian, Deputy Director of the Finance and Economic Committee of the National People’s Congress, Li Xueyong, Chairman of the Education, Science, Culture and Health Committee of the National People’s Congress, Zhang Lianzhen, Deputy Director of the Education, Science, Health and Sports Committee of the National People’s Congress, Jiang Dingzhi, deputy director of the CPPCC Proposal Committee, and former provincial leaders Chen Huanyou, Liang Baohua, and Xu Zhonglin.
