The Jiangsu Provincial Healthcare Security Administration has carried out surveys to collect the most direct and realistic opinions concerning medical insurance so as to formulate relevant policies and measures that cater to the people’s demands.
During the surveys, the Provincial Healthcare Security Administration has come to be aware of the tough issue of medical insurance transfer from one region to another.

Yu Wei, an official with the administration, said he was most impressed by an insurer who lodged a complaint against the unsuccessful transfer of his medical insurance from Wuxi to Suzhou. He used to work in Wuxi for many years and was covered by the medical insurance there. But now he is unable to claim medical reimbursement after transferring his medical insurance to Suzhou where he lives now.
With more and more people making job hops from one city to another, the transfer of medical insurance has become a thorny issue.
After conducting a research survey over three months, Yu Wei submitted a micro report to put forth suggestions on the problems facing the trans-regional transfer of medical insurance.

Based on his report, the Provincial Healthcare Security Administration issued a notice in October to demand the optimization of relevant polices.
Since the start of this year, the Provincial Healthcare Security Administration has submitted more than 80 micro survey reports to the authorities to ensure that the insurers will be able to claim their rights safe and sound.
