The 3rd season of Touring Jiangsu with the Rhyme of Poems was carried out in Nanjing and Huai’an. Lasting from Nov. 6 to Nov. 9, this activity highlights the theme of “Meeting the Great Canal” and welcomes renowned guests from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
On the morning of Nov. 6, the activity was launched successfully at the first stop, the Nanjing Yunjin Museum of China. Guests from both sides of the Taiwan Strait participated online and offline.
Yun Brocade of Nanjing is a remarkable masterpiece of Chinese traditional culture. The traditional hand-weaving technology of Yun Brocade has a long history of about 1500 years, which has been listed as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. It is reputed by the public as "the oriental treasure" and "a Chinese miracle", attracting ancient figures to have literature works on its stunning beauty.
At the 4th CIIE, Yun Brocade, as a handicraft with Jiangsu characteristics, was invited to show visitors from all over the world its new interpretation of classic heritage and the new vitality of tradition and innovation.
In the following days, visitors from both sides of the Taiwan Strait will visit the Huai'an section of the Great Canal to have a rendezvous with the historical sites of China Water Transport Museum, Huaiyang Cuisine Museum, Hexia Ancient Town and other cultural landmarks, to feel the beauty of intangible cultural heritage of the Grand Canal, look for the cultural relics in poetry and songs, and start a conversation with historical celebrities across time and space.
