The CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee convened a meeting on Thursday to solicit opinions from heads of general economic departments and general party organizations and representatives of party members at the grassroots level for the upcoming 14th Provincial Party Congress.
Wu Zhenglong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, said that the forthcoming 14th Provincial Party Congress is of great significance as it is an extremely important landmark meeting for the provincial party committee to unite and lead the people of the province to embark on a new journey and promote socialist modernization in an all-round way.
Wu Zhenglong said that the drafting of the report of the Party Congress will adhere to the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, resolutely implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech and the decision and deployment of the Party Central Committee to ensure that all undertakings in Jiangsu always advance courageously in the direction guided by the general secretary, and continue to satisfy the people's yearning for a better life.
The leading officials of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Department of Finance, the Department of Eco-Environment, the Department of Housing and Construction, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the Department of Commerce as well as the heads of grassroots party organizations and representatives of grassroots party members believe that the draft report is truth-seeking, pragmatic and inspiring as it has a lofty position, a clear theme and prominent focus.
They put forth opinions on such issues as reform and opening up, technological and industrial innovation, urban-rural integration development, integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, co-construction of the "Belt and Road", ecological protection of the Yangtze River, manufacturing transformation and upgrading, strengthening of infrastructure construction, deepening of cross-strait industrial cooperation, coordinated regional development, regional coordinated development, healthy development of private enterprises, enhancement of core competitiveness of enterprises, construction of ecological civilization system and mechanism, construction of comprehensive transportation system, food security, high-quality education development, healthy Jiangsu construction and development of traditional Chinese medicine, promotion of common prosperity, and improvement of rural human settlements and construction of rural roads, construction of the rule of law in Jiangsu, prevention and resolution of risks, construction of talent teams and youth growth, and grassroots social governance and grassroots party building.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out the grand blueprint for the construction of the new Jiangsu, adding that in the past five years, Jiangsu has kept in mind the General Secretary’s entrustment and made concerted efforts to build a well-off society.
He hoped that the comprehensive economic sectors will seize opportunities in response to challenges, play a role as a new development, better grasp the new development stage, implement new development concepts, promote high-quality development, create high-quality life, and better coordinate development and safety, demonstrate greater deeds and make greater contributions in the new journey.
Wu Zhenglong also hoped that the heads of grassroots party organizations and grassroots party members will, under the inspiration of the great party building spirit, give full play to the role of the party organization’s fighting fortress and the vanguard and exemplary role of party members, promote the overall progress of the party organization, make pioneering innovation, and strive to create actual results that can stand the test of practice, the people, and history.
