The AFC Asian Cup China 2023 tournament logo was launched last Friday (October 22) in conjunction with the opening ceremony of the Shanghai Pudong Football Stadium, the competition’s first completed stadium.

As the continent’s top-ranked and most influential football tournament, the AFC Asian Cup China 2023 is set to take place from June 16 to July 16, 2023 in 10 Chinese cities, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi’an, Dalian, Qingdao, Xiamen and Suzhou.

Based on the original logo of the AFC Asian Cup, the 2023 emblem is mainly colored with red and yellow, in which the cup is specially decorated with jade to show Chinese characteristics and the beauty of the oriental civilization.

The 24 rays surrounding the emblem represent the football teams of the highest level from 24 Asian countries and regions, while the 10 beams formed by the rays represent the 10 host cities.

Currently, China’s preparations for the AFC Asian Cup 2023 have seen important progress. The construction of the ten football stadiums is a major milestone in the development of football facilities and venues in China and will become a great sport legacy for the nation. The launch of emblem marks that the preparatory work for AFC Asian 2023 is steadily advancing.

As one of the football venues for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, Suzhou Kunshan Football Stadium includes one professional football pitch and four training grounds. With a seating capacity of nearly 45,000 and 2,500 parking spaces, the stadium is designed and built in accordance with the standards for FIFA international A-level matches.

The design is based on an oval shape that is freestanding amidst a landscape park. There is a natural river bed on the terrain, which will be retained and given a role linking the landscaped park and the football stadium. The characteristic design of the facade is based on a fan-shaped construction, consisting of double concrete frames and elegant projecting lattice girders in the roof zone.
