The Yangtze River Delta is stepping up its efforts for further integrated development as the Yangtze River Delta integrated development demonstration zone is making headway in its overall development since it got the endorsement from the central government in November 2018.
In the first half of this year, the demonstration zone focused on key areas such as planning management, ecological protection, and project management by launching 18 breakthrough and original institutional innovations, including 6 achievements in system innovation in public services.
The demonstration zone has streamlined government administration to ensure that the formalities will be simplified for inter-provincial administrative examination and approval such as the return of books to libraries and connectivity of bus services.
Early this year, the Yangtze River Delta Integrated Development Demonstration Zone launched a pilot program on the issuance of trans-provincial technology innovation coupons.
Science and Technology Innovation Vouchers are equity certificates issued by the government to enterprises or entrepreneurial teams free of charge, which are intended to give enterprises a 50% subsidy for purchasing scientific and technological services.
The innovative service has reached out to 615 service outlets with the provision of 25 thousand service items so as to effectively promote the flow of scientific and technological resources and reduce enterprise R&D costs.
Measures have been taken to carry out digital renminbi pilot projects to promote inter-provincial payment of taxation and utilities.
By the end of October, the demonstration zone will produce 35 effective and innovative results that will be replicated and promoted across the country.
