The provincial people’s congress of Jiangsu released on Sunday its work plan for the 14th Five-Year plan period. This is the first time that a work plan is formulated for the people's congress to make it a major practical and innovative exploration to create a "Jiangsu model" for the innovative development of regional people's congress work in the new era.
Composed of 6 chapters and 26 articles, the 14th Five-Year Work Planning System of Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress plans the goals, tasks, ideas and measures of Jiangsu People's Congress for the next five years in terms of legislation, decisions, supervision, and representative work under the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era so as to create a model for the innovation and development of regional people's congresses in Jiangsu in the new era.
The plan makes specific and clear arrangements for the key tasks from 2021 to 2023, puts forward directional opinions on the tasks from 2024 to 2025, and clearly makes dynamic adjustments, optimizations and improvements to the planned project arrangements according to actual needs.
The plan has made corresponding arrangements for the 15 tasks proposed in the "14th Five-Year Plan" of Jiangsu Province, including a scientific and technological powerhouse, industrial system, smooth circulation, and promotion of opening up.
In the meantime, the Provincial People's Congress will focus on the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, and coordinate legislation and coordinate supervision with the Shanghai, Zhejiang and Anhui People's Congresses on matters such as railway safety management, sharing of large-scale scientific instruments, and promoting carbon emission peak and carbon neutralization.
