Nanjing-based Southeast University kicked off the construction of an international innovation port in the Jiangbei New Area on Monday morning. Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Provincial Committee, was present at the launching ceremony.
Lou Qinjian was briefed on the operation of Southeast University’s Integrated Circuit Design Automation Technology Innovation Center. He said that the international innovation port must adhere to open sharing and integrated innovation so as to fully integrate resources such as technology, education, and enterprises to create a first-class innovation ecosystem.
He hoped that Southeast University and Nanjing Jiangbei New Area would further deepen the university-regional integration, build and operate the international innovation port project, and make greater contributions to the construction of a scientific and technological powerhouse in Jiangsu and the overall development of the country.
Southeast University and Nanjing Jiangbei New Area signed a framework agreement for cooperation and co-construction of innovation port, and a co-construction agreement for integrated circuit design automation technology innovation center.
The International Innovation Port of Jiangbei New Area of Southeast University is located in the former Pukou campus of Southeast University. With the goal of overcoming bottleneck technologies and focusing on the bio-medicine and integrated circuit industries, it will strive to build an internationally influential innovative ecological complex of coordinated integration between the government, industry, university and research that is featured with opening and co-sharing.
The IC Design Automation Technology Innovation Center will be run under the co-sponsorship of Southeast University and Nanjing Jiangbei New Area. The center will cooperate with some leading domestic electronic design automation enterprises and scientific research institutes and is committed to making breakthroughs in key technologies in a bid to become the technology cradle, product demonstration and talent gathering place for related industries in China.
Han Liming, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee, and Zhang Guangjun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Southeast University, delivered speeches at the launching ceremony.
