East China’s Jiangsu province held a meeting Wednesday on the promotion of administrative reforms to boost the development of market players in response to a national video conference on boosting the vitality of market players.
Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, demanded further efforts to implement the measures by following the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era.
Wu Zhenglong said since last year the provincial CPC committee and the provincial government have followed General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and the policies and decisions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to streamline administration and delegate power, improve regulation, and upgrade services.
The reform measures have played an important role in the smooth progress of the domestic and international circulation and given a strong impetus to the sustained growth of high quality development, the governor said.
Wu Zhenglong said at present, the world is facing unprecedented changes and epidemics in a century, and the global industrial supply chain is facing a marked increase in instability and uncertainty, making some market players in Jiangsu, especially small, medium and micro enterprises and individual industrial and self-employed businesses succumbed to greater difficulties.
Wu Zhenglong emphasized that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the beginning of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the beginning of a new journey, adding that the market players are an important carrier and support for promoting sustained and healthy economic development, steadily expanding employment, and improving people's livelihood.
The efforts to streamline administration and delegate power, improve regulation, and upgrade services is of great significance to a good start of the 14th five-year plan period, he added.
The Governor urged all-out efforts to accurately understand the new development stage, act on the new development philosophy and accelerate the establishment of the new development paradigm by following the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.
He also demanded further efforts to ensure security in the six areas of employment, basic living needs, operations of market entities, food and energy security, stable industrial and supply chains, and the normal functioning of primary-level governments and maintain stability in employment, the financial sector, foreign trade, foreign and domestic investments, and development expectations so as to promote high-quality development, high-quality life, and high-efficiency governance, strive to create a first-class business environment, and fully stimulate the vitality of market players and the creativity of the whole society.
He called for continuous measures to give free trade zones and development zones greater administrative approval powers, deepen the reform of the investment approval system and engineering construction project approval system, solidly advance the reform of separation of licenses from certificates, so as to effectively reduce burdens and increase efficiency for market entities.
