The Flagship Store of Fine Crafts of Suzhou, which is located in National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), was officially opened today.
With an area of 1,200 square meters, the exhibition hall boasts more than 200 purchasable exhibits. Selected by experts, these products cover 12 fields, including Suzhou Embroidery, Kesi, Jade carving, fruit pit carving, Suzhou Fan, furniture, cricket pot, birdcage, imitation of ancient bronze, etc, and represent the highest standard of Suzhou Fine Crafts.
Suzhou Imperial Crafts Area
Suzhou Fine Crafts were extremely popular in the imperial house. Among the cultural relics in the collection of the Palace Museum, up to 317,000 are Suzhou Fine Crafts made in the Ming (1368-1644 AD) and Qing (1636-1912 AD) dynasties.
In Chinese, the word “Suzhou Imperial Crafts” is the combination of “Suzhou Crafts” and “the Imperial Palace”, which shows the interaction between imperial culture and Jiangnan culture as well as the high standing of Suzhou Fine Crafts. This area mainly showcases the imitations of some Suzhou Fine Crafts collected by the Palace Museum.

Different from “Select Products Area”, the exhibits in “Derivatives Area” are more acceptable to the public. Apart from being exquisite, they are also practical and useful. Compared with products of international brands, the products in the exhibition hall are more elegant, embodying the lifestyles in Jiangnan area.
