The standing committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee convened a meeting on Monday to study the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Symposium on Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Follow-up Project of the South-to-North Water Diversion and during the Inspection in Henan, and also on the important instructions for the prevention and control of the epidemic. Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, presided over the meeting.
The meeting pointed out that standing at the strategic height of realizing the sustainable development of the Chinese nation and proceeding from the new situation and new tasks facing the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, we have to have a clearer direction and a stronger motive force. We should firmly implement the new development concept, make greater efforts to protect the source of pollution, and do our best to protect water.
We must maintain a harmonious coexistence between man and nature, and properly coordinate the relationship between water diversion and urban and rural water use, irrigation, flood control, drought relief, shipping and ecology. We will strengthen the connection with the cultural preservation and inheritance of the Grand Canal, strengthen management and maintenance of the project, and promote the high-quality development of the eastern route.
The meeting studied recent important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the education and rectification of the political and legal team. We should conscientiously implement the spirit of deepening rectification, strengthening supervision and guidance to ensure that educational rectification achieved real results, to create a good environment to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.
The meeting also studied the spirit of Premiere Li Keqiang and central leadership to do a good job in disaster prevention and relief work, listened to the report on province disaster relief situation. The meeting stressed that the province should enhance awareness of disaster prevention, and strengthen the capacity building of emergency dispatch and comprehensive support.
