East China’s Jiangsu province released on Wednesday 22 selective rural tour routes for the upcoming Labor Day holiday.
The 22 selective rural tour routes jointly released by the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism will lead the tourists to explore the historical heritages, folk traditions, traditional skills and handicrafts in the ancient villages and idyllic countryside.
By incorporating mountains, rivers and lakes as well as revolutionary heritages in the 13 prefecture-level cities, the tour routes will involve such themes as antiquity, landscape, flower viewing, food, health preservation, and parent-child activities.

"The 22 tourist routes gather the most representative rural tourism resources in Jiangsu, fully demonstrate Jiangsu's cultural and historical heritage and natural ecological advantages, and showcase the fruitful results of the beautiful rural countryside construction," said Liu Dawei, Deputy Director of the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
The 22 selective rural tour routes in 92 villages are located within easy reach of the urban areas, making it a popular choice for weekend tours and short-distance travel.
