Suzhou Rail Transit (SRT) will put all its lines (currently Line 1, 2, 3 and 4) into 24-hour operation on May 1. SRT Line 1, 2, 3 and 4 (main line) trains will run at an interval of about 11 minutes and 4 (branch line) at about 15 minutes on that day. The interval will be changed to 30 minutes starting 2am, May 2.
Apart from SRT, Suzhou bus system will also arrange overnight routes on May 1 for the convenience of passengers to and from some SRT stations.
The opening ceremony for “Double Five Shopping Festival” (Suzhou Sub-venue) will be held at Hubin Square (湖滨广场, near SRT Dongfangzhimen Station ) on the night of May 1. There will be fairs at Hubin Square before 10pm from May 1 to 4. Theme activities will also kick off at such key areas as Guanqian Business District, Shishan Business District, Jinji Lake Business District, Shilu Business District, etc.
Extended Service Time
On April 30 (the day before holiday), May 2, 3, 4 and 5, the service time of SRT Line 1, 2, 3 and 4 (main line) trains will be the same as the extended time for night economy; SRT Line 3 and 4 (branch line) trains will also operate for an extra 45 minutes in both directions. As May 8 (Saturday) is the compensation working day, SRT will adjust its operation schedule for May 7 and 8, too.

Departure Intervals
During the upcoming International Labor Day holiday (May 1 to 5), SRT Line 1 trains will run at a minimum interval of 3 minutes 25 seconds and the departure intervals of other trains will remain the same as the weekend schedule, i.e. 5 minutes and 20 seconds for Line 2, 5 minutes and 50 seconds for Line 3, 6 minutes for Line 4 (main line), and 6 minutes and 55 seconds for Line 4 (branch line).
Rush Hours
As the weather is getting warm and balmy, Suzhou will see a big increase in holiday passenger flow and the number of visitors during the holiday is expected to hit a record high. According to previous statistics, the holiday passenger flow peak usually lasts from 1pm to 8pm every day.
Besides, this year’s “Double Five Shopping Festival” will coincide with the International Labor Day holiday, so the passenger flow peak in major business districts and nearby SRT stations may last until 10pm or later.
