East China’s Jiangsu province will make further efforts to strengthen crackdown on telecom and online fraud, pairing-up support and production safety, according to a CPC provincial standing committee meeting held on Monday. Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Provincial Secretary, presided over the meeting.
Efforts must be made to further study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and the spirit of the national conference on the work of fighting telecom and online fraud and fiercely crack down on criminal offenses including hacking, telecom fraud, and violation of citizens' privacy,according to a statement released after the meeting.
Party committees and governments at all levels must make the fight against telecom and online fraud the focus of the construction of peaceful Jiangsu. Relevant enterprises must attach equal importance to risk prevention and control and development. The competent departments of finance, communications, Internet and other industries carry out risk investigation and governance of prominent problems, strive to combat new results in telecommunication network fraud crimes, and promote the improvement of the modernization of social governance, the statement said.
Targeted measures must be taken to implement the policies and decisions of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on strengthening pairing-up support and cooperation between the East and West regions through talent support, technical support, industrial cooperation and labor service cooperation so as to make up for the weaknesses in livelihood such as medical care, science and education, promote rural revitalization, and make new and greater contributions to promoting coordinated regional development and building a new development pattern, according to the statement.
All localities and departments should deeply understand and implement the Xi Jinping Thought on the rule of law and the General Secretary’s important instructions on the construction of a safe and peaceful China by getting started from the overall situation of the province’s high-quality development, establish overall thinking, bottom-line thinking, and systematic thinking, make effective coordination for further development so as to strengthen comprehensive governance, and promote the continuous achievement of solid achievements in the construction of a safe and peaceful Jiangsu, said the statement.
It is urged that greater efforts should be made to strengthen production safety by increasing the sense of urgency and ensure that the chemical industry, hazardous chemicals, transportation, marine fishery, construction and urban gas, coal, fire protection, electric power, special equipment and tourism industries are cleared of major risks and hidden dangers so as to create a safe and stable environment for celebrating the centenary of the Communist Party of China.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for acting on the people-centered philosophy and fully implementing crackdown, prevention, regulation and control measures to resolutely curb telecom and online fraud. Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks in his recent instruction on the work of fighting telecom and online fraud.
The executive meeting of the provincial government also called for further efforts to strengthen epidemic control and pollution, enhance food safety and create a high-quality life amid the promotion of high-quality development.
Recognizing preliminary results that have been achieved in the area, Xi urged the regulators of sectors including finance, telecom, and internet to shoulder primary responsibilities.
Xi stressed improvement in the system of laws, public awareness and international cooperation to resolutely curb the high incidence of such crimes and make new and greater contribution to ushering in a new stage in building a peaceful China and rule of law in the country.
Premier Li Keqiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, also made an instruction on curbing telecom and online fraud.
Li urged continuous efforts to consolidate and push forward the achievements in combating telecom and online fraud in accordance with law, so as to better safeguard the people's property and legitimate rights and interests.
