Tasting tea is a common thing, but sometimes it is quite an art. To make a fresh brew, every step requires particular skills: washing the tea, recovering the tea, wetting the tea…
A group of friends came to Restoration Intangible Cultural Heritage Experiential Studio last Saturday (April 17) afternoon. Under the guidance of Ye Huihui, senior tea specialist from Dongshan Tea Co., Ltd., they learned the history, culture as well as picking and making techniques of Dongshan Bi Luo Chun, and experienced the art of brewing the tea.
Bi Luo Chun tea is one of China’s top ten famous tea brands. It is spiral in form and green in color. Located in Suzhou’s Dongshan area where Bi Luo Chun tea originated, Suzhou Dongshan Tea Co., Ltd. has been passing on the making techniques of Bi Luo Chun tea over the past decades.
First step: Take out tea leaves just enough to make a cup of tea from the tea caddy
Second step: Wash the cup
Third step: Add boiled water of 80℃ to 85℃ into the cup
Fourth step: Put tea leaves into the cup
Following the instructions of Ye Huihui, the participants started their own tea art performances. Let’s have a look!
