Governor Wu Zhenglong met Monday in Nanjing with Wang Xiang, President of Xiaomi Group.
Wu Zhenglong congratulated Xiaomi Group for its achievements in development in recent years. He stated that Jiangsu will step up the efforts to accurately understand the new development stage, act on the new development philosophy and accelerate the establishment of the new development paradigm to drive high-quality development so as to focus on the development of the real economy, implement an innovation-driven development strategy, develop the digital economy, a new generation of information technology, and strategic emerging industries, promote high-quality development, and ensure a good start of the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.
Noting that Xiaomi Group ranked among the Fortune 500 companies in a couple of years due to its leading technology and strong strength, Wu Zhenglong hoped that President Wang Xiang’s visit to Jiangsu concerning its long-term development through further cooperation with Jiangsu, which is also in line with the development goals of Jiangsu.
The governor hoped that both sides will further expand cooperation and deepen cooperation, give full play to Xiaomi's brand advantages, technological advantages and Jiangsu's industrial advantages, scientific and educational talent advantages, promote more high-level R&D centers and industrialization bases to settle in Jiangsu, gather more and more high-end innovative resources, and continue to develop innovative technologies and innovative products.
Wang Xiang thanked the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government for their strong support for the development of Xiaomi Group. He said that the COVID-19 outbreak last year reduced the group's supply chain to the corners but Xiaomi's enterprises in Jiangsu took the lead to resume work and production, which further strengthened Xiaomi's confidence in continuing to deepen its cooperation with Jiangsu.
He said that Xiaomi Group will take Jiangsu as an important base for its growth potential, increase technology research and development, accelerate project construction, improve the industrial ecology, and make new contributions to the province’s high-quality development.
