Construction of an international airport will soon get underway in the city of Huai’an in east China’s Jiangsu province, the provincial department of transport said on Tuesday. The CAAC East China Regional Administration has officially approved the overall plan for Huai’an Lianshui International Airport. Huai’an Lianshui International Airport will be developed into a medium-sized airport in its short-term and long-term development goals. In the near future, it is planned to have an annual passenger throughput of 10 million passengers, an annual cargo and mail throughput of 300 thousand tons, and 85 thousand annual taking-offs and landings.
