In the Brain Observatory Laboratory in Jiangbei New District, Nanjing, researchers are testing free-acting animal brain imaging on experimental mice. This basic research in neuroscience relies on a miniaturized two-photon imaging system developed by Peking University academician Cheng Heping.

The establishment of the Administrative Examination and Approval Bureau has centralized all the examination and approval power to one bureau. In the past five years, the GDP of Jiangbei New District has doubled with a net increase of 150 billion yuan, topping the whole province in terms of growth rate.
