Spring Festival Themed Events
in Suzhou Classical Gardens
As the Chinese Lunar New Year (Spring Festival) is approaching, the festive atmosphere can be felt everywhere in Suzhou classical gardens: the red couplets, seasonal flowers, red lanterns… In addition to the jolly Spring Festival themed installment, the city's classical gardens will also stage a series of events in celebration of the Chinese New Year.
Residents will be able to enjoy Pingtan performance in the Tiger Hill Scenic Area (虎丘风景区), taste tea in the Lingering Garden (留园), experience Jiangnan folk customs in the Humble Administrator's Garden (拙政园), listen to Kunqu Opera in the Lion Grove Garden (狮子林), grab some special snacks in the Fengqiao Scenic Area (枫桥景区), or learn how to arrange flowers in the Couple's Retreat Garden (耦园), too.
Tips: Please make reservations online via WeChat public account “zhiyousuzhou” (苏州园林旅游) before you visit the gardens.

Traditional Chinese Culture Experience at The Couple's Retreat Garden

Price: RMB48 yuan/person (including admission to the garden, tea, traditional Chinese music performance and Chinese calligraphy experience).
The event is designed to help participants get better understanding of traditional Chinese culture through tea tasting, music performance and Chinese calligraphy experience. Both foreign and local residents can register to participate in the event.
