The full name of Baijiang Hydropower Project is Sichuan Baihetan Hydropower±800 kV UHV DC Transmission Project in Jiangsu.
China’s second largest hydropower project starts in Ningnan County, Sichuan Province and ends in Changshu City, Jiangsu Province, with a length of 2088 kilometers.
Upon its completion in 2022, the project can deliver 30 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to the eastern region every year, becoming the backbone of the country's "West-to-East Power Transmission Project", which can effectively alleviate the electrical power supply strain in the Yangtze River Delta.
