BEIJING - The Chinese mainland on Friday reported 107 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 90 locally transmitted and 17 arriving from outside the mainland, the National Health Commission said on Saturday.
Of the locally transmitted cases, 56 were reported in Heilongjiang, 15 in Hebei, 13 in Jilin, three in Shanghai and three in Beijing, the commission said in its daily report.
Two new suspected cases were reported in Shanghai, one imported and the other locally transmitted. No deaths related to the disease were reported on Friday, said the commission.
17 new imported COVID-19 cases
The Chinese mainland reported 17 new imported COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the total number of imported cases to 4,589.
Eight new imported cases were reported in Shanghai, four in Shanxi, two in Jiangsu and one each in Hunan, Guangdong and Sichuan, the commission said.
Among all the imported cases, 4,296 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery while 293 remained hospitalized, the commission said.
No deaths had been reported among the imported cases.
31 COVID-19 patients newly discharged from hospitals
Thirty-one COVID-19 patients were newly discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland on Friday, the commission said.
There were 1,750 confirmed cases still being treated, including 85 in severe conditions, the report showed.
As of Friday, the Chinese mainland had reported a total of 88,911 confirmed COVID-19 cases, of whom 82,526 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery, and 4,635 died of the disease.
