As the first rail transport line in Jiangsu Province to have an automatic train operation system, Suzhou Rail Transit (SRT) Line 5 differs largely from other non-automatically operated lines in terms of train management, passenger transport, equipment maintenance, etc. Currently, all the stations along SRT Line 5 have gone into around-the-clock operation and the station staff are already on duty, carrying out comprehensive testing and other tasks.
Yangchenghu South Station (阳澄湖南站) is one of the terminals of Line 5. The main color of the station is azure, which makes people feel fresh and bright. Besides, the escalators, signs, turnstiles and accessible elevators are all ready to work.
Starting at Taihu Xiangshan Station (太湖香山站) in Wuzhong District, SRT Line 5 passes through Wuzhong District, SND, Gusu District, SIP and stops at Yangchenghu South Station in SIP.
SRT Line 5 measures 44.1 kilometers in length and has 34 stations in total, including 33 under the ground and one above the ground. In particular, Laodonglu Station (劳动路站), which is 31 meters underground, is the deepest rail transit station in Suzhou and the city’s first underground rail station with four floors.
