The city of Wuxi in east China’s Jiangsu province has spared no efforts to practice new development concept and promote new development patterns so as to boost its high-quality development by echoing the important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping.
At the National Intelligent Transportation Comprehensive Test Base in Wuxi, self-driving cars must undergo multiple assessments such as signal recognition, risk avoidance, and safety performance. This means that the development of Wuxi's connected vehicle industry has entered the fast track.
Covering an area of 208 acres, the National Intelligent Transportation Comprehensive Test Base is the only "unmanned vehicle" test base in China that takes the safety of vehicle operation as the starting point.
At present, the base has carried out 35 test services in advance, and completed the test of more than 10 brands of autonomous vehicles such as SAIC, Audi, and Hongqi.
With the innovation chain laid out around the industrial chain, Wuxi has launched 3,657 Internet of Things enterprises since the "13th Five-Year Plan", covering the entire industrial chain.
At the same time, emerging industries such as Wuxi's high-end software and industrial Internet maintained double-digit growth rates. Its well-off index，standing at 145.92, ranks fourth among sub-provincial and prefecture-level cities in the country.
Standing at a new starting point, Wuxi has created the "strongest engine" for innovation-the Taihu Bay Science and Technology Innovation Belt, which will give Wuxi more room for imagination for high-quality development in the future.
During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Wuxi will focus on 10 landmark industrial chains such as the Internet of Things, integrated circuits, and biomedicine to ensure that each key industry has 3-5 listed companies with a market value of 100 billion yuan.
