On December 30, the Taihu Laboratory of Deep Sea Technology and Science (Taihu Laboratory) was officially set up in the China Ship Scientific Research Center. Ma Qiulin, Vice Governor of Jiangsu, and Xu MIao, General Manager Assistant of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited, delivered speeches and jointly unveiled the Taihu Laboratory. Huang Qin, Secretary of the CPC Wuxi Municipal Committee, delivered a speech. Zhang Lefu, Deputy Secretary General of the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, Wu Yousheng, Xu Qinan and Chen Wei, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Zhu Aixun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Wuxi Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Wuxi, attended the ceremony. Vice Mayor of Wuxi Gao Yaguang presided over the ceremony.
At the founding ceremony, the Taihu Laboratory was awarded as the "Laboratory of Jiangsu Province". He Chunrong, Director of the China Ship Scientific Research Center and Executive Director of Taihu Laboratory, reported the laboratory construction plan. The distinguished guests watched the prospective video of Taihu Laboratory and witnessed the founding of the Taihu Laboratory platform building.
