More than one third of the people in Jiangsu province are exercise enthusiasts, according to "Opinions on Implementing the Healthy China Action to promote the implementation of healthy Jiangsu campaign issued by the Provincial government in January.

The plan has combined 15 special actions for Healthy China with the actual situation in Jiangsu, and organized the implementation of 25 special actions so as to continuously popularize healthy lifestyles through a series of special actions such as the popularization of health knowledge, reasonable diet actions, and national fitness actions.
At present, 25.33% of the residents in the province enjoy health literacy. The per capita sports area has reached 2.79 square meters. 37.1% of the residents regularly participate in physical exercise.

In response to the health needs of key population groups such as women and children, adolescents, and patients with chronic diseases, Jiangsu has promoted the equalization of public health services, strengthened the prevention and control of chronic diseases, and integrated health education into all links of school education.
At present, Jiangsu has built 37 national comprehensive prevention and control demonstration areas for chronic diseases. The myopia rate of children has dropped from 60% in 2018 to 58.1% in 2019.

Statistics show that Jiangsu's population aging is second only to Beijing and Shanghai, ranking third in the country. Therefore, strengthening the construction of the elderly care service system and deepening the integration of medical care and nursing are also important tasks for the construction of the healthy Jiangsu campaign.
As of November this year, Jiangsu has established 13 geriatric hospitals at and above level two, 269 nursing homes, and a total of 705 integrated medical care institutions. 6.86 million people over 65 years of age have completed free health check-ups since the start of this year.
