East China’s Jiangsu province bestowed awards to role models in the COVID-19 fight at a commendation conference held Thursday in Nanjing. Lou Qinjian, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Wu Zhenglong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor, presided over the meeting. Present at the conference were Huang Lixin, Chairwoman of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, and Ren Zhenhe, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.
The meeting started with all participants rising to sing the national anthem.
Ren Zhenhe read a provincial order to bestow awards to role models in COVID-19 fight. A total of 45 exemplary individuals and 15 primary-level Party organizations were commended by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council for their roles in fighting the epidemic.
