Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu provincial committee, called for greater efforts to strengthen unity and promote progress among various minority ethnic groups. He made the remarks at a commendation meeting held by the provincial party committee and the provincial government Monday in Nanjing. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor Wu Zhenglong presided over the meeting. Present at the meeting were Huang Lixin, Chairwoman of the Provincial CPPCC, and Ren Zhenhe, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.
Lou Qinjian said that work related to minority ethnic groups is a matter of concern to the overall development of the party and the country, adding that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core has attached great importance to work related to ethnic groups by making a series of major decisions and arrangements so that the country has made new historic achievements in promoting the cause of national unity and progress in China.
The spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of important speeches on the work related to minority ethnic groups has pointed out the direction and added a strong motivation for strengthening the work in this regard, said Lou.
Lou Qinjian said that Jiangsu is a place with scattered inhabitation of 55 minority ethnic groups and a history of Jiangsu's development is the history of hard work by the people of all ethnic groups.
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Jiangsu has conscientiously implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on the work related to minority ethnic groups, and has continuously forged a sense of community of the Chinese nation, further consolidating the province’s socialist relations of equality, unity, mutual assistance and harmony among various minority ethnic groups.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the various ethnic groups in Jiangsu fought a tough battle against the epidemic and promoted development in due course, which has strongly confirmed the correctness of the policies and decisions of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core on the work related to minority ethnic groups and the road to solving ethnic problems with Chinese characteristics.
Lou Qinjian pointed out that Jiangsu is now standing at a new starting point of development, making it all the more necessary to follow General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on the work related to minority ethnic groups, fully implement the party’s theories and policies on the work related to minority ethnic groups and ensure that the central government’s policies for the work related to minority ethnic groups will take root and blossom in Jiangsu.
