The 1st Caohu Lake Golden Autumn International Dragon Boat Race is set to start at 8am this Sunday (October 11) at Caohu Lake Wetland Park (漕湖湿地公园) in Xiangcheng District. Besides the wonderful dragon boat race, there will be many exciting activities waiting for you!

A Sino-Japanese Intangible Cultural Heritage Market will be held on the race day to lead visitors into colorful Chinese and Japanese cultures. The market will demonstrate such delicate handicrafts of Xiangcheng as imperial kiln bricks, Yuanhe kesi (silk tapestry), Weitang pearls, Taiping boat models, water town woven straw articles, etc. as well as Japanese traditional ceramic ware and ikebana (Japanese art of flower arrangement) culture.
このイベントでは、中日の無形文化遺産市場が設立される。現場には御窯金レンガ、元和のつづれ織り、渭塘の真珠、太平の船の模型、水郷のわら織りなどを含め、「相城十絶」の美しい手工芸品や日本の伝統的な陶器、日本の花道文化が展示され、豊かな中国と日本の文化を体験できる。

In addition, over 120 types of Japanese sake from more than 30 brands and multiple Japanese-style snacks will be displayed. Visitors can taste traditional snacks unique to Suzhou such as Haitang cakes and sesame pies, and also Japanese-style takoyaki (octopus balls), sushi and many other special snacks. Feast yourself!
そして、蘇州中日文化と商品の交流会が開催し、30余りの日本酒ブランド、120種類以上の日本酒や一連の和風軽食も展示される。海棠糕（ハイタンガオ）や麻餅（マビン）などの蘇州の伝統料理のほか、日本風のたこ焼きや寿司などの特別な創作料理を現場で味わうこともできる。この日中グルメの饗宴にぜひご参加ください！

On July 5 this year, the China-Japan Regional Development Cooperation Demonstration Zone (CJRDCDZ) was inaugurated in Xiangcheng District. The central part of CJRDCDZ, covering an area of 38.5 sq. km, is currently under construction. In the next three years, CJRDCDZ will move forward at full speed, aiming to see over 100 Japanese-funded projects settle in the zone every year. Let’s look forward to closer business and cultural exchange between China and Japan!
