Under the auspices of Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, “Suzhou, China with Style” 2020 Global Tourism Promotion Salon was organized by international tourism platform TripAdvisor at Tian Zi Fang (田子坊) in Shanghai Saturday. Up to 50 foreign guests attended the salon.
Two well-known foreign tourism experts shared their stories with Suzhou during the event. “I like Suzhou most. I’ve been to the Hanshan temple, Tianping Mountain, and Lion Grove Garden before. The unique sceneries of ‘small bridge, flowing water’ are very impressive.” said Garry from Russia.
Tanya from Ukraine, who gave herself a Chinese name Dong Danni (董丹妮), likes Suzhou’s delicacies best. She said, “Compared with the dairy products and bread in my country, Suzhou locals are good at adopting various natural ingredients and different cooking skills to preserve the original flavor of food.”
Back to the salon, the venue arrangement and on-site interaction session was also handled very well. During the “Colorful Suzhou” theme game, the foreign guests used paint brushes to present the city of Suzhou in their eyes.
Besides, the performances of Kunqu Opera, Guqin and Suzhou Embroidery furthered their understanding of Suzhou culture.
Just like the exquisite double-sided embroidery, Suzhou has its quaint and modern, traditional and fashionable sides as well. The city is becoming a travel destination for more and more international tourists and has been among TripAdvisor’s “Travelers’ Choice” Top Ten Tourism Cities in China for many years in a row.
Suzhou is proactively working on the inbound tourism brand “Suzhou, China with Style”. Tourists from home and abroad can get access to multilingual information about Suzhou, including scenic spots, hotels, distinctive local events, tourist comments, etc. through TripAdvisor’s overseas websites.
Suzhou is waiting, with its arms open, for more foreign friends to come and explore the charm of the city!
