Many universities in China will cut short the upcoming National Day holiday and the mid-Autumn Festival, which adds up to an eight-day vacation, to make up for the lost classes due to the containment of the novel coronavirus pandemic in the first half of this year.
Some universities have adjusted the schedules and rearranged the time for the winter vacation. Earlier, the Ministry of Education has said that universities are encouraged to adjust the time for the golden week holiday in early October so as to soften the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the classes lost. The students are advised to refrain from going out of the campus unless necessary.
