East China’s Jiangsu province has revved up the construction of major investment projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort so as to ensure the fulfillment of this year’s goals for social and economic development. Let’s take a close look. 

Construction of an offshore wind farm in Dafeng District, Yancheng City, went underway recently. The project is located in the coastal waters of Dafeng, with a distance of about 67km away from the shore. The total installed capacity of the project is 206.4 MW and the annual power generation will reach 610 million kWh.

Compared with a thermal power plant of the same scale, it can reduce the consumption of standard coal by about 170 thousand tons per year, reduce the emission of harmful gases by about 470 thousand tons, and smoke and dust by about 17 thousand tons.

Under the premise of ensuring the safety of project construction and operation, 300 million yuan of cost has been reduced in the actual investment of the project compared with the estimated cost, setting three records in domestic wind farm construction.

The floating and sinking of large-diameter single piles for offshore wind power were recently tested in the waters of Rudong County. 

A single pile with a diameter of 5.5 meters, a length of 72 meters and a weight of 627 tons was completed at the foundation construction site of an offshore wind farm 44 kilometers offshore.

The large-diameter single-pile occluder ensures the success of the experiment and provides strong technical support for the smooth completion of the single-pile "drifting on the sea".

At present, China Transportation Sanhang Company has applied for a domestic patent on its latest technology breakthrough. With this test, the company will make further efforts to optimize and upgrade the new technology, and strive to achieve large-scale promotion as soon as possible so as to offer a new way of thinking for the transfer of ultra-large structures for offshore wind power in the future.
