East China’s Jiangsu province will step up its efforts for rural revitalization and renovation of old residential communities in the urban areas in the coming years, the provincial government said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Efforts will be made to achieve the goal of a beautiful and livable city with beautiful environment, advanced civilization and modernized construction, according to the press conference.
The work will be centered on building a beautiful and livable city system, integrating and improving beautiful and livable areas and jointly creating beautiful and livable cities, the press conference said.
Based on equity and co-sharing principles, Jiangsu will make further efforts to improve the facilities in water supply, public toilet, telecommunication, water environment, underground pipelines, garbage sorting and ecological repair so as to promote the reasonable installation and intensive operation of various types and levels of public service facilities.

In the meantime, Jiangsu will integrate the renovation of old residential communities in the urban areas in its drafting for the 14th five-year plan to ensure the effective promotion of a joint construction and co-sharing mechanism.
Efforts will be made to invite support from elevator, courier service, parking and property management and non-governmental capital in the renovation, construction and operation of various service facilities.
